The beautiful resort community of Aspen is located on the Roaring Fork River in the Rocky Mountains near Central Colorado about 190 miles from the city of Denver in Pitkin County. With a land size of approximately 3.5 square miles, Aspen is home to over 6,700 residents. Serving as the Pitkin County seat, this small community has evolved into an affluent resort community.
The economy within Aspen is rather diverse and encompasses industries such as arts, entertainment, recreation, accommodation and food services, professional, scientific, management services and retail trade. Residents with children from grades K-12 will find superb educational accommodations through the Aspen School District
. Nearby college campuses include Colorado Mountain College as well as a couple of other campuses just outside of Aspen.
As a resort town, Aspen provides recreational amenities for people of all ages. Aspen is most known for its fabulous snow-covered slopes in the winter, ideal for downhill skiing and snowboarding, and many miles of cross country skiing trails. The summer season is just perfect for golf, mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. The Aspen Music Festival is also held annually from June to August. Other historic sites and museums include the Aspen Art Museum and the Wheeler-Stallard House Museum.
