The Aspen Music Festival has been held each summer since 1949 and has been the place where the world's most accomplished and promising musicians have come together and not only perform, but teach and learn as well. Over 700 musician students and 200 guest artists are projected to manifest each year to share a “glorious summer of camaraderie and music.” Some recent artists include Sarah Chang, James DePreist, Leon Fleisher, Peter Serkin, Gil Shaham, Michael Stern and the American and Emerson String Quartets.

The Aspen Art Museum was founded in 1979 and has been recognized internationally for presenting exceptional exhibitions with a strong emphasis on modern and contemporary art. The historic brick building, which houses the museum, is built along the scenic Rio Grande Trial near the heart of Aspen. The museum offers a number of exciting work shops for children, teens and adults and also provides free public lectures, docent tours, site rentals, special events and members' art trips.
